He Came to Me in a Dream

Neem Karoli Baba Maharajji I had not thought of Babaji for many years. Back in the late 60's early 70's I was incredibly drawn to him but could not go to India. I spoke to him often in my head.

Now many, many years later I have this dream:

Neem Karoli Babaji was standing in front of me. He was wearing a long plaid blanket. He looked at me and yelled something and immediately dove at my right foot and grabbed it.

I was so shocked and felt so unworthy that I reacted by pulling back. He then immediately was standing again, hollered something else, and dove at my left foot and grabbed it. End.

Upon awakening and remembering the dream I felt elated for the experience and sorrow that I reacted by pulling back.

Realizing Love Serve Feed Remember

Neem Karoli Baba MaharajjiAbout a year and a half ago, I was reading "Miracle of Love" and reflecting upon my life and job.

I work at an Organic/Natural grocery store. I had been feeling for some time that I wanted to make a difference in the lives of the poor and needy and longed to work for a non-profit organization feeding the hungry.

I was praying for guidance and asking God to open a door of opportunity for me to do just that.

Maharajji Sits with Woman in Hospital

Neem Karoli Baba Maharajji

At a bhandara around 2001, I met a woman who had come for the first time. Some years back a copy of Be Here Now had fallen into her hands, and after reading it she knew Maharaji was her guru.

She lived in the rural mid-west and had never had contact with any of Maharaji’s devotees. As far as she knew American devotees were a small group of disconnected people. Lacking satsang, she honored Maharaji in her own way.

Some years later she developed brain cancer. Doctors at the hospital told her that odds of surviving the surgery were 50/50, perhaps less.

She was told to “get her house in order.” After surgery she remained in a drug-induced coma for several weeks in order to let her brain heal.

When she woke up a nurse came to her and asked her what faith exactly was her father. She told the nurse that both her parents were dead for many years.

The nurse asked, “So maybe he was a rabbi or something like that ? The woman was baffled. As far as she knew, nobody other than her doctor even knew she was in the hospital.

A Reunion Scripted By Maharajji

Neem Karoli Baba MaharajjiWhen I returned to India in Oct 2004, it was to meet with my uncle, whom I address as Jeevan Mausaji and my aunt, Pushpa Mausiji and Siddhi Ma.

I called my mother from London to find out about the whereabouts of my uncle whom I knew little about, not having bothered to keep in touch for almost 30 years. I also requested her to let mausaji and mausiji know that I would be coming to India in October and would like to meet them.

I stopped at their place en route Kainchi from Delhi and stayed with them for a few days on my return from Kainchi. Our reunion could only have been scripted by Maharajji.

There were no questions asked about my sudden interest after so many years of indifference nor any sentimental recriminations just a big welcome into their hearts and a silent understanding of what I was experiencing.

Kainchi Leela

Neem Karoli Baba Maharajji

I was introduced to Siddhi Ma by my aunt and was given permission to stay at the ashram even though I had made no prior arrangements for staying.

I didn't even realise what a huge priviledge this was and that not many are given it.

Siddhi Ma placed me in a room which I shared with Marilyn Miira Pranno who has become a dear satsangh friend.

My days at the ashram were euphoric and I was so consumed by the meeting of so many satsanghis who shared my love for Maharajji that the temple routine went by me quite unnoticed.

I had not realised that a maha arti had been scheduled to close the Navratri celebrations at Kainchi.

On my last night at Kainchi I went to retire into my room around 10 pm but try as I did I could not work the combination lock to open.
