Ashram ‘Brindavon’ - Europe
This ashram, dedicated to Sri Neem Karoli Baba, is located in Southern Germany in Ulm - halfway between the cities of Munich and Stuttgart. It was founded by Sri Durgamayi Ma in 1998 and serves as refuge of spiritual practice for Maharajji’s Satsang in Germany, which has grown over the years.
In 1971 Durgamayi Ma saw a picture of Sri Neem Karoli Baba in the book ‘Be Here Now’ by Ram Dass. Feeling a very strong longing, she and her spiritual companion Vishnu Digambar travelled to India, were found by Maharajji and became His devotees. Meeting Baba changed the course
of their lives.
Back in Germany, from 1985 on, they began to share their deep experiences with Maharajji and the love He gave. This way Baba's satsang in Germany started to grow.
In 1998 the Satsang was able to buy a large house, which was inaugurated as ashram ‘Brindavon’ on Nirvan Divas the following year - the centre of spiritual practice for a small, but very committed satsang and home to 28 ashram-residents. Because more and more people visit the ashram, the satsang again bought a larger building, which is still being renovated and Mataji gave it the name ‘Sri Neem Karoli Baba Mandir’ in ever loving remembrance of her Guru - our Satguru - Maharajji. Anyone wishing to visit the ashram or to receive Mataji’s Darshan is most welcome. All current information on ashram.de .
The temple area is located on the ground-floor of ashram ‘Brindavon’ - with a darshan hall and smaller temples dedicated to Lord Hanuman, Maa Devi Durga, Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna, Sri Ganesha, Lord Buddha and Jesus Christ.
