Driver Desired Hanumanji's Darshan

Neeb Karori Baba MaharajjiOnce Babaji went to Hanuman temple, Lucknow by Kehar Singh's car.

Umadatta Shukla also was with them.

Babaji went into the temple and facing Hanumanji sat by the fence on the road-side.

The driver also desired to have Hanumanji's darshan. Therefore, he locked the car and went into the temple by the bridge at the side of the road.

When Shuklaji saw him he came running and met him half-way on the bridge and jostled him out.

The Supreme Being' Babaji, though He had His back towards them saw all this. He came running and set the driver free with such force that Umadatta could not bear the push and fell on one side.

Admonishing Shuklaji He asked, "Who are you to stop him? Do you think I have built this temple for you? It has been built for them (low castes, poor, miserable and afflicted)".

You Won't Be Short of Petrol

Neeb Karori Baba MaharajjiBelying the principles of Physics, Babaji did such lila that even the eye-witness hesitated to believe them. Such lilas were beyond mind intellect, and speech, for example:

About 35 years ago, Shri Jawahar Lal Khandelwal of  Agra, (he was 16-17 years of age) had an opportunity at a relatives' house to escort Babaji to his place to stay.

It was about 11-12 O'clock of a cold winter night. There was little petrol in the car, so he took a turn to go to the petrol pump.

Baba asked him, "Where are you going? There is enough petrol, let's go, you won't be short of it."

When he asked where, he got the reply 'to the other side of the Yamuna'.

After having crossed it, he was asked to drive on Firozabad Road.

Though he was driving at the speed of 50-60 km per hour,  Babaji went on saying faster faster.

His Emergence

Neeb Karori Baba Maharajji(A brief Introduction)

A young sadhu of tender age with matted hair, wearing a loin- cloth and holding a chimta (a pair of tongs) and a kamandal in his hand was going to Farrukhabad, probably to bathe in the river Ganges. Attracted by his age and the glow on his face, the villagers implored him to settle down in the village. The sadhu assured them that he would be back after having bathed in the river Ganges. And thus Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj stayed in the village by the name of Baba Lachhmandas (Lakshamandas).

There is a village Akbarpur in Nagau Municipality of Agra district in Uttar Pradesh. Born in a respectable and prosperous Brahmin family of the village, Babaji, renouncing the rich ancestral heritage of land, left home in childhood and engaged himself in Yog Sadhna at a village, Babania, at a distance of about 40 k.m. away from Morvi town in Gujarat and at other places. Born for the welfare of people and a recluse since birth, the behavior of the step- mother was only an excuse for his running away from home.

After Neeb Karori

Neeb Karori Baba MaharajjiAfter having left the village Neeb Karori, Maharajji's travels and the field of his welfare activities became widespread in 1934-1935. By visiting the thousands of people in various cities and provinces, Babaji carried on his activities of Compassion and Grace.

The poor, aggrieved, afflicted, needy, and accursed, were the recipients of his Grace. Although Babaji did everything with his super natural powers, following his policy of keeping his identity concealed, he created varied circumstances (which took a turn according to his wish) and made them or the prosperous, socially, politically, economically sound people, or the government officials, the medium for removing their sufferings. In some cases, he openly indicated that he was the doer and confused the person concerned saying "God does everything, pray to Him (or Hanumanji). I know nothing".

But the very close devotees knew who that God or Hanuman was, and secretly took delight in these lila.

It is rather impossible to give an account of the widespread events of his Grace in one book. Therefore, a few lila and instances of Uttarakhand and incidentally of some other places are given here in adoration of Babaji Maharaj.

Brings Hanuman to Uttarakhand

Neeb Karori Baba MaharajjiConstruction of Temples & Ashrams in Uttarakhand and Other Places

There has been a great majority of Shaktas and Shaivaites in Uttarakhand. There are some Vaishnavas also, but there were mostly the Shakti Peeth and the temples of Lord Shiva.

The number of Hanuman temples was negligible. The worshippers of Hanuman were very few. Although Ramayana was read and Ram Lila was enacted during Dussera in autumn, but Hanuman was regarded as one of the leaders of the army of monkeys and as a messenger of Rama.

Babaji, who was endowed with the supernatural power of will and who was an incarnation of Hanuman, the eleventh aspect - Rudra of Shiva, became determined to build Hanuman temples in Uttarakhand.

But, prior to it, he had to create an awakening for Hanuman in the heart of each and every individual.

For this purpose Babaji inspired people to read non-stop Ramayana, particularly the Sunderkand and Hanuman Chalissa individually as well as collectively.
